Fishing Term: Zipper Worm
Definition
The original Zipper Worm, produced by Roboworms, is characterized by its unique design. These worms are flat, wide, and bulky, featuring stubby rib-like protuberances along both sides, from which the name "Zipper" is derived. The edges of the worm are often thicker, with a potential for a sucked-in, thin center, depending on the manufacturer. Regardless, all Zipper Worms share a distinctive broad pennant-shaped silhouette, contributing to their considerable fish appeal.
The lure's notable bulk and ribs serve to create significant water displacement. Additionally, the softness of the lure allows for body flex as the rod is manipulated. These features are intentionally designed to elicit strikes, especially during the bait's descent, a critical moment when many bass are known to strike. The unique characteristics of the Zipper Worm are geared towards maximizing its effectiveness in triggering strikes and capturing the attention of bass in various fishing scenarios.
