How we started

Our company has over 70 years of combined fishing experience. We followed in our family footsteps of being professional fisherman. Just like everyone else we had to start somewhere, luckily we had family support to push us along the way. Our fishing experiences started the backwoods ponds and gradually progressed to Creeks, Streams, Rivers and Lakes. The journey took us from fishing recreational to fishing tournaments. Eventually the love of fishing took us to saltwater where we were forced to learn a whole new methodology. Yes, we struggled, but one day it all came together and the fishing went from ok to on fire. At this point in our lives we decided to start Commercial fishing and offering guided trips. Thousands and Thousands of pounds of fish made it to the dinner plates of our clients.

Beyond Fishing

Even with all the years of experience, at times it was tough catching fish. We were just at the wrong location or the bait we used wasn’t what the fish wanted. This convinced us to start making some of our own lures and mixtures of bait. The experiments were both hit and miss, some worked and some didn’t and some we were kicked out of the house for making. We persevered and eventually focused on structures, above and below the surface. For us it made sense as these would be a primary gathering point for most fish species. We learned to operate Fish-finders, read topographic maps and even the environment that surrounded us. Our adventures and knowledge were eventually documented into waypoints, which we hope will provide you with years of enjoyment.

Giving Back to the community

We were raised to contribute back to society without the expectations of financial gains and have practiced this rule throughout our lives. Not everyone can afford a boat, gear or even bait and to share with those less fortunate is the ultimate blessing. None of us here at the Fishing Ward have a clue as to how many peoples lives we touched. In the world of fishing, we started with taking single parents and their children out for a fun day of fishing. That lead to individuals with disabilities, struggling veterans and even those whose days were numbered due to terminal illness. It was amazing to watch problems fade off into the distance as you listened to the sound of a screaming reel.

Our Wealth of Knowledge

Although not every number in our file is going to produce fish, many will produce the targeted species you are seeking. Currently people are using our test files in many States and the results have been outstanding. We are confident enough to say our numbers are responsible for hundred’s of thousands of pounds of fish being caught. Several of the fish caught have been within a few ounces of State records and eventually someone is going to land that beast that re-writes history.

We have fished on several Continents, quite a few Countries and more States than we can remember. The Fishing Wards Crew has plucked Bluegill out of ponds, Muskie from the lakes and trout out of the crystal clear streams of the west-coast. Some of the most memorable freshwater fishing for us was actually the rod shattering, line breaking giant Catfish of the Mississippi River. Saltwater fishing is the ultimate adventure for us and there is nothing like listening to a reel scream as a large Tuna or billfish rips out hundreds and hundreds of yards of line. The only thing I’ve found that is close would be the serrenity of catching Speckled Trout at dawn from a kayak.
